We have developed an engaging Augmented Reality enabled app, which will involve stakeholders in climate change challenges and lead them to action through education.
Climate-Related Hazards Addressed:
Coastal floods
River floods
Heavy precipitation / pluvial floods
Storms/High wind speeds
Sea level rise
Specific Problems Solved:
Predicting Water Level Rise:
The innovation enables accurate prediction of potential water level rises due to floods or sea level rise, allowing for timely and effective planning.
Visualizing Solutions in Urban Environments:
It provides tools to visualize flood scenarios and potential solutions in city environments, helping stakeholders understand the impact of rising water levels and the effectiveness of various mitigation strategies.
Early and Last-Minute Warnings:
The innovation offers both early warnings and last-minute alerts for imminent flooding or storm events, ensuring that communities and authorities can respond promptly to minimize damage.
Stakeholder Engagement:
The innovation engages a wide range of stakeholders, from young people and educational institutions to investors and those at risk of damage, fostering a collaborative approach to climate adaptation and resilience building.

The system’s main components have been individually tested, and an initial integration has been completed.
The need for just Esbjerg is very specific, and our augmented reality app covers 95% of engagement and educational needs to inform and influence to action. The challenge for Esbjerg and cities with similar challenges, is that action is taken too late. A flood or several is needed before the problems are truly taken as serious as they should be. We believe that ‘Seeing is believing’, and that motives to action and involvement.
The technology was developed independently in relation to similar project visions. The technology is fully owned by the legal entity Virsabi ApS.
The access to GPS position of phone and landscape altitude measures done from flyover or similar is need for the precise visualisations.
