This digital farming platform revolutionizes agriculture with smart data management, real-time visualization, and decision support. It enhances production quality, meets EU standards, promotes organic farming, and boosts export market access.
- Over-irrigation, which can lead to waterlogging, soil salinization, nutrient leaching, and groundwater contamination.
- Under-irrigation, which can cause crop stress, lower quality, and reduced yield.
- Irrigation scheduling, which can be challenging to determine based on weather, soil, and crop conditions.
- Irrigation uniformity, which can vary depending on the type, design, and maintenance of the irrigation system.
- Addresses droughts, improving water management and increasing water use efficiency

The system’s main components have been individually tested, and an initial integration has been completed.
The project aims to revolutionize greenhouse management in Albania through advanced digital farming technology. Our innovation involves the digitalization of farming and agriculture by acquiring, managing, processing, and visualizing greenhouse data. This creates a decision-making support system for farming management, providing farmers with real-time, easily accessible data via interactive, user-friendly web and mobile applications. The project improves production quality by optimizing irrigation, temperature, humidity, and other parameters, helping farmers meet EU standards and secure EU certification. By managing greenhouse conditions, the technology reduces the need for pesticides and fertilizers, promoting organic production. This makes local products more reliable for the EU market and enhances export opportunities. The remote monitoring system alerts farmers to critical issues, preventing irreversible damage. The technology attracts young people to agriculture, improves market competitiveness, and fosters cooperative farming. It also supports environmental sustainability by optimizing irrigation and conserving water.
This innovation is initiated with a financial support by SGP UNDP in Albania. The initial results were considered successful, however, the further developing of the tool exceeded SGP UNDP Albania project goals.
