The Portable Natural Biological System (P-NBS) is the modular and mobile solution developed by AYALA Water & Ecology (Israel) for its energy-free sewage treatment technology The Natural Biological System (NBS™). The system is based on portable units design according to international dimensions of sea containers that can be transported by trucks.

The P-NBS Is an engineered ecological system that allows natural physical, chemical and biological processes to occur all at the same time thanks to the existence of: a) Chemical-aggregates with natural or engineered minerals and active surfaces, b) Physical-gradient of substrate sizes, surface textures and porosity, and c) Biological-specialized plants and additives able to support a healthy microbiome which promotes contaminant degradation, sequestration and volatilization.
Limitations/conditions under which this innovation does not work or is less effective
The P-NBS™ is robust to changes in influent water flow, however the average monthly influent should match the stated operating parameters in order to maintain the effluent quality. – – A stable platform is needed for the placement of the P-NBS™, and should be protected from incidental mishaps such as wildlife or other potential damages. – Cold weather is not a problem while the P-NBS™ is being used. If the M-NBS™ is not used during long periods of cold weather, the system will require a few days to thaw out and recover hydraulic conductivity.

• It is a mobile system made to fit on standard ground and sea transport vehicles in a single container, thus can be delivered to any location with a single truck
• There is no need for ground work infrastructure, save for a sturdy platform. This enables the client to quickly prepare for delivery and set up.
• The setup is quick and simple. The P-NBS™ arrives pre assembled and is put in place, balanced and connected with the help of a boom (on the truck) and a 2 person team.
• The PNBS™ is stable and long-lasting (30+years). It meets strict regulatory demands without the need for skilled intervention, energy or chemicals.
• The P-NBS™ enhances local surroundings and environment, providing air filtration and a pleasing aesthetic condition.

The main components of the system have been tested separately, and an initial integration exercise has been conducted.
